The FIREHOSE github repository is now hosted at the following location:

This will be the location of all future releases, and in time may archive other dependencies including xidl, idlspec2d, and other packages if they become otherwise unavailable.

Release History

v1.3 [beta] - 08 / 26 / 2011

This release includes routines for handling data taken in FIRE's low dispersion prism mode.

v1.2 [beta] - 08 / 05 / 2011

This release adds features to allow user-selected extraction apertures and more preferences for general extraction.  Fixed many outstanding bugs, probably introduced others.

v1.1 [beta] - 04 / 21 / 2011

This is the initial public release of firehose.  We are currently supporting code to reduce FIRE echelle mode observations only, although longslit routines are in the code base and brave users can give them a try until we move to support them as well.

The current release is in beta stage only.  We have made every effort to produce robust reductions but users should examine outputs critically and report feedback to our team, or comment to this wiki.

Hrm, svn no longer works from behind a firewall, apparently.

    svn co svn://pele.mit.edu//FIRE FIRE

svn: Can't connect to host 'pele.mit.edu': Connection refused

Did FIRE start requiring SVN authentication? Anonymous authentication does not appear to work.

    kalatalo@~/idl.lib > svn co svn://pele.mit.edu//FIRE FIRE
    Authentication realm: <svn://pele.mit.edu:3690> f5a4437f-b60a-443a-9f15-45e3f4db9034

An edit that worked: instead of svn co, use:

      svn export svn://pele.mit.edu//FIRE FIRE

I'm trying to do a fresh install on a new machine, and I'm having problems:

    bash-3.2$ svn co svn://pele.mit.edu//FIRE FIRE .

    Authentication realm: <svn://pele.mit.edu:3690> f5a4437f-b60a-443a-9f15-45e3f4db9034

    Password for 'massey': *************

I've tried my "touchstone" login and password but that doesn't seem to work.

    thanks!
