Permissions
Permissions are controlled via the Permissions page. This page is available only to those with space administrator privileges in the space. Navigate to the Permissions page via:
Browse Space
--Space Admin
----Permissions
Some Examples (all refer to the 'Edit Permissions' function on the Permissions page)
- If you want your site to be viewable by anyone in the world:
- Give 'view' permission to 'Anonymous'
- Give 'view' (or better) permission to the group 'confluence-users'
It is not recommended to give more than 'view' permission to 'Anonymous'. If you do find that you need to, say, give 'comment' permissions to 'Anonymous', you should monitor the space by placing a watch on it.
- If you want restrict your site to the MIT community only:
- Give 'view' (or better) permission to the group 'mit-users'
- Do not give any permissions to 'Anonymous' or 'confluence-users' (note that 'confluence users' includes both members of the MIT community and non-MIT users who have registered for an account)
- If you want restrict your site to a specific Moira group (or groups), or to a Stellar class list:
- See User and Group Administration for instructions on linking Moira groups and Stellar lass lists to your wiki space
- Give 'view' (or better) permission to the Moira group(s) you have chosen to use
- Do not give any permissions to 'Anonymous' or 'confluence-users' (note that 'confluence users' includes both members of the MIT community and non-MIT users who have registered for an account)
- If you want to give access to an individual person with MIT username joeschmoe:
- Under 'Individual Users', give joeschmoe view (or better) permissions.
