Overview

The Gliffy plugin allows you to create collaborative web-based diagrams right on a Wiki page. With Gliffy, you can create many types of diagrams such as flowcharts, UI wireframes, floor plans, network diagrams, UML diagrams, or any other simple drawing or diagram.

Getting Started

To create a new diagram:

  • From your Wiki homepage, click the button located in the upper right-hand corner.  You can also insert the Gliffy macro (described below).
  • Each diagram has two links below it: 'Full Size' and 'Edit Diagram'.
  • Click 'Edit Diagram' to bring up the Gliffy web-based editor where you can create and modify your diagram.
  • When you're done, click 'Back to Wiki'
  • Your diagram will be saved and you'll be sent back to the original wiki page.

To access the community-supported tips and tutorials for Gliffy, see Gliffy Support and locate the section entitled: Gliffy Plugin for Confluence.

Other Info: Diagrams that you create will be stored as an attachment to the original wiki page. Each time you save your diagram in the Gliffy Editor, a new version of your diagram will be created and attached to your wiki page. The diagram will retain the same name, so you'll have a complete version history of all changes. Note: Do not edit the attachment by hand or you will destroy the diagram and have to revert to a previous version.

The Gliffy editor also lets you export your diagram as SVG, PNG or JPG if you need to use it outside of the wikis.
