I. Request for Hire
- define business need for new/different role within team
- determine if contractor or FTE is required
- verify budget and headcount
- communicate intent to isda-managers@mit.edu
- discuss at next managers meeting
- incorporate feedback from management team
- create position description and/or job posting with Joan and Ken (HR Team)
- request new FTE (if needed) with attached approval form (with signatures) and copy isda-finance@mit.edu IST Additional FTE Request Form Version 3.doc
II. Upon Approved Request
- work with HR Team to post position
- outline interview process
- identify interview team - should include ISDA and non ISDA staff if possible
- identify core questions that should be asked
- review resumes and select potential candidates (inform HR)
- schedule interviews (with help of HR?)
- schedule time to debrief with interview team and make decision on candidates
- select finalist candidate
- work with HR to check references and formalize offer
III. Department Logistics
- once offer accepted, inform isda-managers@mit.edu
- secure cube/office space with Pat
- computer and phone equipment, supplies, access card, keys, etc. with Bryan (who will coordinate with W92 Site Team)
- send welcome email to isda@mit.edu
