Krystle's Notes (temp hire for project):
File Sequencing -
I've attached the completed spreadsheet with all the sequencing of images for the PDFs. A couple notes: filming and separation records or microfilm notes are highlighted in red, newspaper or magazine clippings are in green (where I could I noted where each came from, but some don't have a notation about what paper they were clipped from), blank pages that I've left in are highlighted in yellow and notes about missing images are in blue.
For the missing images, if there was a microfilmed note about it, I have that in red (like nbee where they stopped filming due to the rest of the pages being blank), but for the notebooks that don't have those notes, there a couple different reasons. In nb28 and nb35, the pages that were missing (pg.90-91 in 28 and p.106-107 in 35) when the notebooks were microfilmed and so aren't in FileMakerPro or on the hard drive. In nb34, there is a note at the top of pg.143 that pages were missing (I'm guessing they were torn out), so I stuck that note in blue between p. 140 and 143 that 141-142 are missing. Nb34 also has a microfilm note at the beginning that pages are missing as it starts on pg.9.
For the blank pages, if there were a bunch together that were blank I took them all out and replaced them with a note (such as the beginning of nbB1 and the end of nbT-3), but if it was a single page somewhere, I left it in. In some notebooks this is only one or two pages, but nbcc and nbgg have nearly every other page blank, so I could pull those out and make a note that any skipped page number is due to a blank page. I did this on nbff and nbff as both of those "notebooks"
are actually just loose pages put together and the backs of nearly every page is blank, the page #s are just what I numbered them as in FileMaker, there are not pg.#s on those pages.
Let me know if you have any other questions about these, or anything you'd like me to change/go over again.
Okay, I've attached the spreadsheet for nb03 as it is pulling from the sequence order in Filemaker, so every page is still listed (just the duplicate files for the same page are taken out). I highlighted the pages that I think we should take out, basically any blank pages, but left the targets in for now, shown in red. Once I clear out the highlighted files, I'll fix the sequence so that it goes 1 thru 180ish, not to 262, but i wanted to check and make sure I understood what you were looking for on this. All the inserted loose pages in the front are extra note (mostly
equations) he did on scrap paper, which is why I think if we take out the target pages, it'll need some other note page or note field shown next to the image, that shows these were inserted at the front of the notebook.
Same for the other inserts throughout the notebooks, because they're important to have in there, but need some note of explanation, just a mention of "this was filed between page x and y" or "these negatives were in an envelope attached to page z" would work if there's a note field, and left in the sequence where they are between pages versus being taken out.
Am I thinking on the same lines as you are? Or were you imagining something else for this?

Sorry, my email didn't go through yesterday because I forgot the .edu part of the address (kinda hard to send that way, oops!), but here's the spreadsheet. I'm still check through a couple of the later notebooks to see if I missed any others letters and such, but all the article clippings or programs are on this list, including the ones produced by MIT. Anything that has a credit I've put in the notes field, and if not, I've tried to describe what it is. I'll email you any other extra pages I find that need to be censured next week, but this is the majority.
