MIT custom macros for searching

Three MIT custom macros are available.

ISBN macro

The macro searches a 13-character ISBN wanded/scanned in from the item. If the ISBN is fewer than 13 characters, this macro cannot be used.

The name of the macro is "ISBN" and it is located in the new_cbc macro book.

This is what the macro does:
Check if a session is logged on, and if not, initiate a login.
Prompt for a 13-character ISBN. Verify correct length, drop the first three characters, replace last character with '"*", then search Worldcat.

IMF working papers macro

The macro searches for records for IMF working papers. The series number includes a string like “WP/05/213.” The number following the last slash is entered into the macro window. If multiple records appear, the macro asks which record to select. Once the cataloger has entered the desired record number, the macro automatically strips undesired tags and adds appropriate ones.

NBER macro

The macro searches for records for NBER working papers using the working paper number. If multiple records appear, the macro asks which record to select. Once the cataloger has entered the desired record number, the macro automatically strips undesired tags and adds appropriate ones.
