Physical processing: barcodes and call numbers
  1. Some of the older uncataloged materials may not be barcoded. If this is the case, copy cataloger will need to place the barcode on the item and its accompanied material. Because individual branch libraries may have different ways to store/shelf various types of cartographic materials, where to place the barcodes and transcribe the call numbers may be different.   2. If the map consists of multiple sheets, label the sheets as sheet 1, sheet 2 and so on.
  3. If item consists of multiple maps and each map is on a separate sheet, label the sheets as map 1, map 2 and so on.
  4. If the accompanying material does not have an already designated name like report, guide, cataloger can name it “suppl.”
