Attendees:

  • E19- Ken Paul, Jackie Cancell, Jean Samuelson, Julienne Dean, Janet Walzer, Tom Pixton, Chuck Munger
  • Phone-in: Laurie Bryce, Kath & Robert Thurston-Lighty, Ranjani Saigal, Bob Wilt

Writing/Content

  • Kath with be meeting with Janet 7/3 to edit the Benefits pages, review MIT Medical pages, and a couple of the checklists.
  • The Diversity page is still waiting for legal language and most likely won't be part of the 7/15 final content delivery to Bob Wilt
  • Bob indicated that this will not present a problem

Multimedia Development

  • Kath delivered the second set of script pages early.
  • Voice auditions are complete; Julienne, Janet, Kath and Ken will be meeting 7/8 to discuss choices (correct meeting date is 7/8, not 7/9)
  • A few more Benefits content updates will be coming from Jean

IS&T Update

  • Paul Hill has drafted a new MIT Certificate acquisition page for our review
  • We would like to provide comments to Paul the next day or two.

Design

  • Laurie and Ken reviewed the Design 3 comments, and forwarded selected ones on to Wing
  • Comments not selected will be addressed during Development, or made part of the usability study in the fall
  • Wing had just posted the final design pages reflecting the implemented Design 3 comments
  • We noticed a few items in the draft pages that should be changed:
    • The home page MIT logo appears not to conform to MIT and NEO web standards
    • Community bubble- "More Fun/Jargon/News" should be "More fun/jargon/news"
    • The "Diversity" submenu name should be "Diversity and Inclusion"
    • Orange bullets appear cropped at the top on pages like: http://www.inkd.net/dlmit/neo/r03.5/neo_final_02.html/
  • Tom will follow up with Wing on these issues
  • Ken will follow up with Wing on the PowerPoint templates

Development

  • URL decision was revisited. Laurie pointed out the technical complexities and potential user complexities involved with having mixed case URLs and redirects. The group agreed that the benefits weren't worthwhile, and decided on "welcome" (all lower case) as the NEO website name: hrweb.mit.edu/welcome
  • The development schedule has been adjusted. More time has been allotted to implement fixes following the first build QA process. Less time has been allotted for the final build
  • Most development work will be posted on the HR Web site. This will reduce testing and the work needed to post to production.
  • Laurie is looking at giving Bob FTP access.
