Discussion

Outcome

Narrow all pages by 5/6 characters.

This will make horizontal scrollbar disappear on monitors with a 1024x768 resolution.

Request withdrawn.
Making the change at this point would require major redesign work.

Increase the space between bulleted rollover navigation items.

On some displays, the navigation might be a bit tight.

Bob to increase by 2 pixels.

Bold rollover navigation items.

Bolding characters changes their size

Request withdrawn

Remove colored box appearing below the multimedia link on the My Benefits page.

The colored box is reserved for content containing links leading outside of the website.

Bob to remove.

Introduce text providing some direction to first time visitors to the main NEO page.

Other usability studies suggest that some users need to know what to do first.
Other team members feel this isn't necessarily the case here, and feel strongly about keeping the non-directive, play theme intact on the home page.

Request deferred until usability studies in Fall.
At most, this is a content issue that is easy to introduce.

Remove "MIT Fun/Jargon/News" submenu item from My MIT Page. This links to the same page as the "See All" link on the MIT Community bubble.

This menu item doesn't have the same importance as the other items.
The issue is how to handle readability/ accessibility issues for the Flash based Community bubble.

Resolution:
Remove the submenu item
Add a link and text to the "See All" page on the My MIT/ Getting Around page

Reverse "More ..." and "See All" on the bottom of the Community bubble.

The arrow next to the current "More ..." suggests that the system will leave the current page.

Bob to switch.

Add some action to the secondary and tertiary page pictures

On these pages, there is a large arrow pointing to the picture, suggesting that the user should do something with the picture.
Perhaps we could add a link, rollover caption (something humorous, or a location), or ???

Deferred, probably to the fall.
Need content development.
