'New' Quals

The new qualifying exam process described below is for students entering the graduate program in fall of 2013 or later. Details for the older qualifying exam process can be found further down the page.

Prior Oral Exam Questions

Note: Oral qualifying exams are not offered in all fields of specialization every cycle, therefore the number of available questions may be different for different fields of specialization.

'Old' Quals

This page was written for students entered before Fall 2013, taking qualifying exam during or before Feb 2014.

If you want to use any of the old material for studying purpose, I think it roughly goes like:

  • 22.211 and 22.312 remain;
  • 22.101 is now the "Applied Nuclear Physics" module;
  • 22.106 is not offered under the current curriculum anymore but might potentially help with the module "Radiation Interactions, Control, and Measurement."
