On May 20, 2013 an EF5 tornado developed over Moore, Oklahoma.  It reached estimated peak winds of 210 mph.  This tornado was one of many formed by a large trough.  67 confirmed tornadoes formed from this system. 24 people were killed and the tornado also did $2-3 billion in damage.
