Winter Storm Nemo occurred in February, 2013. It's severity was partly due to the fact that it was a combination of two low pressure systems colliding. One of the low pressure systems originated in the southeast United States. The other came from the north, specifically the midwest. The 24-hour radar loop shows that the system stayed above the northeast for hours.

What were it's effects? The storm brought multiple feet of snow to the New England area, as well as winds up to 83 miles per hour. Many people called the storm the worst since 1888.

Boston- 24.9 inches of snow (5th highest in history)

New York City- 11.4 inches of snow

Portland, Maine- 31.9 inches of snow (highest recorded ever)

Stamford, CT- 40 inches of snow (most snowfall of the storm)
