Evaluation of timing of TpcRS for pp, AuAU, UU M-C events
Status as of Nov 5:
- Yuri's plan for TpcRS :
- ADC correction which will be applied for run IX dE/dx calibration
- Systematics in reconstructed cluster pad position versus no. of pads
used in reconstruction and cluster position on pad
I am happy with that.
- Still TpcRS has missing account for dE/dx calibration (which has to be done for run IX) and
distortions. This is the highest priority for now. - The timing issue is important and I am going to work on that but not now.
It is clear that it is possible combine generated electrons in pseudo clusters and transport them.
But I don't want to loose quality of simulation. This will require a lot of tuning.
The timing is not an issue for embedding. - Anybody who wants to to use Trs for TPX can do that
but this simulation will have no sense at all even this will be done a factor of 13 faster.

Hi Chitrasen, November 12, 2009 10:48:02 AM EST
1. Difference in pT dependence dE/dx for MC and data is just due to
the fact that
GEANT does not describe the data. See slide 5 in http://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/TpcRS.pdf
2. Difference in sigma dE/dx is also coming from disagreement data and
GEANT/TRS model.

Hi Gene, from Jeff/Tonko I got the following txt - files for gains.
~/work/tpx_gain $ ls -1 tpx_gains.txt.*
tpx_gains.txt.02Feb09
tpx_gains.txt.11Dec2008
tpx_gains.txt.15Apr09
tpx_gains.txt.15Jan08
tpx_gains.txt.forFY08
tpx_gains.txt.until15Apr09
My guess is that 2008-12-11 entry corresponds to one of the first
pulser runs with full TPX.
It does not interfere if you will put
the ideal entry for y2009 with time stamp 2008-12-15 00:00:00
