This page outlines how graduate student apply for their degree

At the very beginning of their final semseter, students must complete an Online Degree Application to indicate to the Institute their intent to graduate.

  • This application is due by the registration deadline (usually the first Friday of a semester). There is a late fee if students miss this deadline.
  • Students access the Online Degree Application via WebSiS. See the "Templates" section for the email that goes out to students, detailing the process.

After the deadline, visit WebSiS and select "Degree Tracking" to view active degree applications.

  1. Select "Lists" and then the current term to view active applications.

  2. If everyone on the list is correct, select "Dept Approve".

  3. If students need to be added or removed, they can be, even after "Dept. Approve" has been selected.

  4. When a thesis is submitted, utilize this site to confirm a thesis title matches exactly what's in the Online Degree Application.

  5. The Registrar uses this list to build Degree Candidate lists which are reviewed a final time (for any last-minute additions/removals) days before degrees are conferred in Degree List meetings with OGE.

On the Degree Tracking "Main Menu" you may also see "Dates" - theses are degree conferral dates for upcoming semesters.

Once you select "Lists" in the bottom left you may choose to look backward by selecting a prior term and then "Archive" and then selecting "Candidate List".
