This page details the planning, scheduling and implementation of the Fall MSRED Class Orientation.
- The MSRED Orientation is a required event that takes place the last week of August (the week immediately before the start of classes)
- When planning this event, pay attention to dates. Sept. 1 is move in day for many students. Best to not schedule events when possible.
- The EET test will also impact orientation scheduling since it is required of all international students (typically the Tuesday of Orientation Week)
- Make sure to include the orientation dates in the student admission letters.
NOTE: Starting in Fall 2024, OGE will have a larger roll in orientation and may take on some of the sessions that are universal for all grad students (Gard Union, IDHR, etc.)
The Orientation includes
- Welcome Session
- Program Overview
- Career Development Session
- Alumni Session
- Registration Session
- Research Labs Presentation
- Industry Partners Presentation
- Curriculum Showcase
- Rotch Library Tour
- IT Session
- Financial Workshop Session
- Building Systems Field Trip
- Welcome Dinner
- Other social activities
See the most recent class year folder (i.e., MSRED 2024).
There will be an ORIENTATION folder inside with all the information needed.
