Single Sign On Issues

The error message below is indicative of single sign on/socket layer issues. e-Builder admins have seen instances of this error with both Chrome and Internet Explorer.

The error message (displayed after completing Kerberos login routine) is: e-Builder Error: System error occurred while decoding the token

Depending upon the browser the procedure to clear this error is slightly different.

Chrome

To clear this error in Chrome:

  1. Go to Chrome Settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Advanced
  3. Click Clear Browsing data.
  4. The Clear Browsing data window appears.



  5. Check Browsing History, Cookies and other site data and Cached Images and files. Inform the user that they will lose passwords, cookies etc as a result of this step.
  6. Click the Clear data button.
  7. From the Settings page, Click Open Proxy Setting
  8. Click Content



  9. Click Clear SSL State



  10. Close and restart the browser and login to e-Builder. (e-Builder.mit.edu)

Explorer

  1. Click the Settings icon.
  2. Select Internet options.



  3. Click the Delete ... button.
  4. Configure the options to clear all cookies, cache and history. Advise the user that they will lose those items from past usage of the browser.



  5. Click the Delete button.
  6. Click the Content tab.
  7. Click the Clear SSL state button.



  8. Click the OK button.
  9. Close the browser and login to e-Builder. (e-builder.mit.edu)
