Single Sign On Issues
The error message below is indicative of single sign on/socket layer issues. e-Builder admins have seen instances of this error with both Chrome and Internet Explorer.
The error message (displayed after completing Kerberos login routine) is: e-Builder Error: System error occurred while decoding the token
Depending upon the browser the procedure to clear this error is slightly different.
Chrome
To clear this error in Chrome:
- Go to Chrome Settings.
- Scroll down and click Advanced
- Click Clear Browsing data.
- The Clear Browsing data window appears.
- Check Browsing History, Cookies and other site data and Cached Images and files. Inform the user that they will lose passwords, cookies etc as a result of this step.
- Click the Clear data button.
- From the Settings page, Click Open Proxy Setting
- Click Content
- Click Clear SSL State
- Close and restart the browser and login to e-Builder. (e-Builder.mit.edu)
Explorer
- Click the Settings icon.
- Select Internet options.
- Click the Delete ... button.
- Configure the options to clear all cookies, cache and history. Advise the user that they will lose those items from past usage of the browser.
- Click the Delete button.
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Clear SSL state button.
- Click the OK button.
- Close the browser and login to e-Builder. (e-builder.mit.edu)
