1. Determine the version of OSX you're running.  Click on the Apple Menu and select "About This Mac..."

Look at the dialog box that comes up; record the version.

  1. Download the driver from the list below based on the version of OSX you have.
    OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)
    OSX 10.8
    OSX 10.7
    OSX 10.6
    (need earlier?  see me.  -Brian)
  2. Install the driver.  If you downloaded a driver for 10.9 or 10.8, just double-click the .pkg file.  If you downloaded a driver for 10.7 or 10.6, unzip the package first.
  3. Start System Preferences from the Apple Menu.
  4. Choose the "Print and Scan" applet.
  5. If the printer is already there (it will be named 18.125.2.143 or similar), remove it by selecting it and pressing the "-" button at the bottom of the box.
  6. Then, press the "+" button to add the new printer.
  7. Click the "IP" printer type button.
  8. Type in the printer IP, "18.125.2.143".  Then, pull down the "Use" box and choose "Select printer software..."
  9. In the dialog box that pops up, choose "KONICA MINOLTA C454e PS".
  10. A dialog to configure the printer pops up.  Change the "Finisher" to "FS-534" then press "OK"
  11. Tada!  Now OSX knows about the new printer.  However, we're not done yet.
  12. Now, open up a document to print.  Here, we're using Preview to look at a PDF.  From the File menu, choose "Print..."
  13. Pull down the print options combo box...

... and select "Output Method".

  1. Now, click the "Account Track" check-box.
  2. In the dialog that pops up, enter the number that Olga gave you into the "Password" box.  (You can leave "Department Name" blank.)  Make sure you choose "Save Settings" so you don't have to repeat this part.
  3. Unfortunately, OSX doesn't let you set this as the default.  Instead, we'll make a new preset so we don't have to change it each time.  Pull down the "Presets" combo box and choose "Save Current Settings as Preset..."
  4. Name the preset something useful (I used "Account Tracking").

Now, when you print with this preset, you'll use the secret code automatically and the printer will actually give you a print-out.
