So I was blasé about the iPhone

I already had my eye on the Motorola E6 after looking into the Nokia N80 and 6708. They all work on T-mobile, my current service, and have a stylus, on which topic more later. Waiting for iPhone version 2.0 and letting Apple work out the inevitable kinks, crashes and battery issues on other people's time and dime seemed like a reasonable approach. But then it dawned on me: I can make my friend Joe - Mr.look-at-my-latest-gadget - lose a few hours of sleep over this. What splendid motivation! Judging by last night's emails from him - mission accomplished. Bwaahhaa hahah!

All this joy and excitement thanks to Andrew and company's heroic efforts at the Galleria - for which I am in eternal awe, having sat through them at my desk at work tweaking Stellar stylesheets and watching the email updates fly. This was logistical genius, the 1812 Overture of event organization.

Many jokes were made at the iPhone's expense in the days before its release. "There's no cover? If I put it in my pocket, will my butt call New Zealand?" "What if someone calls you halfway through your spare ribs at Red Bones?" Most, it turns out, unfounded.

Then I got one
