Attendees: Joan C, Chris M, Chuck K, Matt S, Scott J, Andrew Y

Note about Hacking: Matt Sullivan had to restore a "bricked" iPhone that was originally "unlocked" using an older method. It took 4 days to research and restore the iPhone to a usable state. The lesson learned is a) do not hack the iPhone (unless you know what you are doing); b) hacked iPhones can be extremely difficult to restore; c) we cannot support a hacked iPhone.

Documentation: The team reviewed the documentation and feel it's ready to go to production. Lee (who was absent) will need to use the documentation in the Wiki to create HTML version for the production team.

Discussions about the iPhone SDK: The iPhone SDK is expected to be released in 2/2008. A large number of iPhone hacks are already available including a SyncML client (http://syncml2ical.com/pmwiki.php).  Once the SDK is available, we can probably expect a number of real applications to be made available.

Safari: document known issues.

no support for certificates, flash, java, touch and drag for certain web sites (e.g. google.com/maps)...

Email Knows Issues:
Voice Mail for Sylantro (.WAV) still cannot be played on the iPhone when received as an attachment.

IAP Session:
Andrew and Matt will work with Apple to present the iPhone as an IAP class. The target date is to-be-determined (preferably after some kind of announcement about the iPhone SDK at the MacWorld).

Matchup between different mobile platforms (perhaps a session for Mobile Partners?)

Recommend: Password Protection to protect the device in case of theft or loss.

Next Steps: Lee to put up the documentation as HTML

Next Meeting:  12/4 (Tuesday) 1pm (N42-202)
