When someone graduates the class, their first badge is free (that is, the cost is considered to be part of the cost of the class.) Otherwise, club members are charged for badges and dangles they get. Official dangles (i.e. for President, Member-At-Large etc) are paid for by the club, as they are expected to get passed down to new officers.

We previously ordered them from Majestic Badge, but they closed on September 1, 2015. Majestic Badge sent all their format and layout information to Tagem Engraving (Bruce and Wanda Carter): bruce@tagem-engraving.com, 1005 Canyon View Rd, Dripping Springs, TX 78620, phone/fax (512) 894-3634.

Badge orders are placed at least once a semester, by the Class Coordinator or an assistant. (To be updated: They sometimes ship very quickly, but it varies; allow at least a week, and two if you want to be safe.)

Here's a sample email for the badge order:

Hey, me again, with a new order for our spring graduating class, and for members who have lost their badges.

I’d like the badges before our class graduation, on May 3rd.

We’d like magnet-backed badges for:

(list of names)

The tab is between the first and second line (so, the last name is a second line, except for (name)’s badge, where he wants “(name)” on the first line and “(name)” on the second. Oh, and (name) wants only that single name on his.)
The capitalization should be as they are listed above.
The text should have no extra spacing between characters and should not be stretched.
The thicker lines used on recent badges should continue to be used.

We’d also like three dangle bars, with holes on the top and bottom, matching our prior pronoun dangle bars, but saying
HE / THEY
ANY PRONOUN
ANY PRONOUN

You can send them to me at:

(address)

And you can email me, or call me at (number) if you have any questions.

Please send the invoice for the badge order directly to me, as we are having trouble with MIT payments, and I will pay you and get reimbursed eventually.

Thanks very much,
(name)

While people are in the class, they have Class Badges which the class coordinator makes.
