Both tests were conducted with 2 shear pins each.

Test #1 (0.1g black powder) - Epoxy blew out on firebolt

Test #2 (0.1g black powder)

Regarding the first test, the firebolt log indicates that a small indent in the firebolt epoxy was present. This indicates that the epoxy on firebolts must be of the highest quality, and that there should be an extremely low tolerance for error. However, even though the first firing blew out the epoxy, it still did manage to snap both shear pins. This indicates that 0.1 grams of black powder has significantly more force than that required to break 2 shear pins.

However, given the blowout and the fact that there was only one steel firebolt remaining, we elected to not use the film for the second run.
