Collection Level

Use for all resource collection level records EXCEPT for sets of student records and faculty and staff personnel records, where no intellectual property note is used at all.

Generally, this note field is labeled as "Intellectual Property Rights," however, an additional note labeled "Conditions Governing Use" may be used in collections where the only item is in non-text format and it constitutes the entire collection.

In cases where there are restrictions on reproduction placed by the donor, use a statement at the collection level description that specifically describes restrictions on reproduction.

Example

Additional notes may be placed at the series, folder, or item level.
