Serials reclassification project
Background:
Barker has decided to half-class their entire journal collection. Latest issues of a title will be shelved in Barker under the half-classed call number, with the rest of the run going to OCC, also with the half-classed call number.
...
Arnie is working with Tim Rix to give various people access to the Sercat folder on the R: drive. Along with Sercat, Maria and Melissa should have access to this spreadsheet.
Procedures:
The spreadsheet will be divided up 4 ways, among Arnie, Ben, Jen, and Kathy.
...
Jen: Green; #1-160
Ben: Tan; #161-184, 366-408, 528-627
Kathy: Yellow; #628-779
Arnie: White; #185-365, 409-527
Don't forget!
...
- Remember to use the Cutter-Sanborn table for the cutter. (Note to Arnie: The second cutter will be .I22 for all IEEE related titles.)
...
- All new Barker journals will be half-classed, with new IEEE related titles and "Journal of..." titles double cuttered.
- Make sure you keep track of how many journals you have reclassed, on your stats sheet, under
...
- "Reclass".
If you happen upon a record that has 'Latest xx years in Barker; earlier in Library Storage Annex", and there is both a ENG/JRNL holding and an LSA/JRNAL holding, do NOT change the call number on the LSA/JRNL holding. Maria will send Melissa a printout for these titles, and LSA will decide whether to keep their journal run as "No Call #" or change them to half-classed. However, if there is both an ENG/JRNAL and LSA/OCC holding, change BOTH holding records to half-classed. See example below:
