email tool to send email either to an individual reviewer or a found set of reviewers, such as those whose active roles include 'Peer Reviewer'. Clicking 'This Reviewer' or 'Found Set' generates a pop-up window where you select an email template to send. If you need to edit an existing template or add another, click 'Add / Edit Templates'. To edit a template, simply browse to it and begin editing.  To add a template, click the 'Add  \[\+\]' button. Each template needs a _description_, _recipient group (To)_, _subject_, and _message_; _Cc_ and _Bcc_ are optional.  _Cc_, _Bcc_, _subject_ and _message_ require double-quote encapsulation when used. Click the red paper-clip to add an attachment to the template.

Coding subjects and messages to be database-driven is complicated, but powerful. The best method by which to learn how is to look at the existing templates already in your system. The most common error people make when coding these fields, however, isn't in using functions, but rather forgetting to simple encapsulate all static text!

Add / Edit Reviewers

  • At a minimum, the following fields must be populated when adding a reviewer: last name, first name, email, and password.

Assign Reviewers to Calls

    Select the Assignments tab.&nbsp; To assign a reviewer to a specific call (<span style="color: #ff0000">should be among active calls; fix this</span>), click the green \[+\] button beneath 'Assigned Calls for Panel Review', and select the call via the drop-down that appears.

Email Reviewers

  • Use the email template 'announcement of panel review process', which includes reviewer-specific login privileges and panel review instructions. Customize this template if necessary.
