Jane'sAbby’s PhD research focuses on writing a third-person, present-tense sentence or paragraph about her research. improving the capability to trace contaminated foods back to providers and forward to consumers to facilitate faster, more accurate tracing of contamination sources during large-scale, multi-state food contamination outbreaks. Current methods in outbreak investigation are time, energy, and resource intensive, and constrained by incomplete, manually collected data. Her research seeks to improve outbreak traceability by developing implementable algorithms that identify the highest probability source of contamination in the most efficient manner, given realistic limitations on data availability.
