Helios Injector Design
The number of oxygen orifices, the number of fuel orifices, the angle of the orifices, and the desired pressure drops were set subjectively. The inlet orifice head loss coefficient was assumed.
Then, the orifice flow rate, area, diameter, and flow velocity were calculated from the previous values set above. Also, the beta angle (impingement stream angle) is calculated from that.
Since we can't machine at exactly the correct orifice diameter, we choose an actual orifice diameter possible and calculate the actual pressure drop from that.
