The Gradebook Module now includes support for Homework/Assignment submissions. This feature obviates the need for instructors or administrators to maintain separate tools for collecting online submissions and grading, as assignment creation and assignment submission capabilities are integrated into one module.

  1. Click Image Added(4). The Add Assignment form will display.

    1. Grading Scheme*: The assignment's grading scheme.
      1. Numeric - Assignment is graded using numeric points.
      2. Letter - Assignment is graded using letter grades.
    2. Max Points* : The assignment's maximum points. Only used for Numeric Assignment
    3. Weight* : The weight of the assignment. This field will only display if you are using the average for your grading scheme.

    1. Post On Date : When the assignment will be posted to the Calendar.
    2. Due Date* : The due date of the assignment.
    3. Release Solution On Date : The date the solution of the assignment will be released. Only available when the assignment has a solution part.
    4. Assignment Options :
      1. Allow students to submit their work online - Students can upload or enter assignment work through the gradebook. See Student Submissions
      2. Allow late submissions - Students can submit assignment submissions after the due date. Late assignments will be marked as "late".
      3. Allow students to view all other student submissions after due date - After the due date, students will be able to view other student's submissions.
      4. Allow students to comment on all other student submissions after due date - After the due date, students can comment on other student's submissions.

Editing and Deleting Assignments

Editing Assignments
  1. Click (8icon for the assignment you would like to edit.
  2. The Add Assignment form will display.
  3. Make the desired changes.
  4. Save the assignment.
Deleting Assignments
  1. Click (8icon for the assignment you intend to delete.
  2. A confirmation message will be displayed. Click Delete to remove the assignment.

You can filter/search for assignment titles by entering text into the Assignment Filter (1). The number to the right of the Assignment Filter indicates how many assignments are currently displayed in the assignment list.

2. Filter By Assignment State

Assignments can also be filtered by the assignments table by assignment state (9). Only assignments with the checked state will be displayed. The numerals indicate The number at the end of each line indicates how many assignments exist in each that 'state'. The assignments page will display assignments based on the states that are checked (via the checkboxes). Note: Assignments can exist in multiple states - for example, if two states e.g., an assignment has with both graded and ungraded students , it has both the state of will count twice – as an assignment that is To Be Graded and and an assignment that is To Be Approved.

An explanation of each stateDescriptions:
