Research Description:

Ross is developing dynamic models based on the comprehensive wealth accounting framework developed by the UN. The framework seeks to provide a more comprehensive measure of a nation's economic well-being, by accounting for natural and human capital, in contrast to more traditional measures like GDP. However, the current framework can only evaluate past time horizons to test for sustainability (defined as a positive per capita growth rate in the weighted sum of all forms of productive capital). Thus, the models will build on this framework by quantifying the interdependencies between different forms of capital such that policy experiments (in particular those relating to infrastructure) of long-term economic performance can be tested. This prospective analysis will allow policymakers to anticipate future bottlenecks and tradeoffs in the macroeconomic system in order to better inform decisions today.

The standard bio layout contains: your name, academic background, work experience, research domain, research methodology, research description, publications, a black-and-white portrait, personal website and professional website... in that order. Students early in their career may only have content for some of these sections. That's cool. Add more when you have it! 2. Anything sandwiched in-between a pair of start-bracket htmlcomment end-bracket is not displayed in viewer's browsers. 3. Look at the menu options beneath this window. One of the options is "Label." You can now label your bio which enables... drum-roll... indexing. Please choose from the pre-seeded labels. {htmlcomment} {table:border=0|width=620px}{tr} {td:width=5%|valign=top} !http://esd.mit.edu/images/stretcher.png|border=0! {td} {td:width=80%|valign=top} h2.
