1. The standard bio layout contains: your name, academic background, work experience, research domain, research methodology, research description, publications (ideally a link to your google scholar page), a black-and-white portrait, personal website and professional website... in that order. Students early in their career may only have content for some of these sections. That's cool. Add more when you have it!

2. Anything in one of these "HTML Comment" boxes not (((usually))) displayed in viewer's browsers.

3. There are a few advanced formatting tasks that you can outsource to Beth.

    • Research intern, Energy Systems Division, Transportation Research Group

Research Domain:

electric power systems operations and planning, electricity pricing, power sector regulation and market design

Research Methodology:

optimization, systems science and control, regulatory economics

Research Description:

Ash's research focuses on the design and use of price signals as effective control signals for distributed decision-making in power systems operations and planning. Her core research interests include exploring tradeoffs between the computational complexity and granularity of price signals, and their effectiveness in incentivizing efficient system outcomes. Her work seeks to combine development and novel application of theory and computational tools to inform the pricing of electricity services, the design of electricity markets, and the regulation of transmission and distribution networks in a manner best-suited to the integration of decentralized and centralized resources in a decarbonized power sector.
