The iLab Network:
Broadening Access to Hands-on STEM Learning via Remote Online Laboratories
The Center for Educational Computing Initiatives (CECI) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is partnering with the Office of STEM Education Partnerships (OSEP) at Northwestern University to implement an international cyber-enabled learning resource to provide a broad population of learners with access to remote labs in service of improved STEM education and public education. The ultimate goal of this effort is to create the iLab Network - a scalable and sustainable online network of students, faculty and researchers around the world; who come together to share remote labs, collaborate, evaluate and access curricular materials. The iLab Network will enhance STEM education and provide new cyber-enabled research and learning opportunities to students, researchers, and informal science education programs around the world.
