Computing at MIT: The Map

This year IS&T is drastically reducing the amount of paper materials we are giving out to incoming students and faculty during Orientation. We have also tried to come up with something new and useful, which is cheap and easy to produce. The result is this Computing at MIT: The Map map. It can be conveniently printed on legal-size paper, and folded down to business-card size to keep in your wallet.

In addition to listing IS&T-run computing locations on campus, it also lists technology installations and important locations maintained by other departments, as well as other technology and campus resources that may be of use to new students and faculty. We will be giving out pre-folded copies of this map at Orientation 2009 events. Look for out Computing at MIT classes during Orientation week and the IS&T tables at the Academic Expo and Community Fair.

You may also request printed copies of the map by using the form below. We hope to keep this a living and evolving document, synchronized with the electronic campus map. To that end we encourage you to send us your ideas for improvement, thoughts on the map in general, and assessment of whether this document is useful to new members of the MIT community. Please send us your feedback using the contact form.

Check out MIT's new on-line campus map, developed by IS&T and built on top of Google Maps. You can search of locations and key resources on campus and take advantage of many other Google Maps features. Try searching for Athena or Help Desk and get directions to key computing resources on campus!
