Shallow Parts of Prototype

  1. When viewing the main map screen, the user's location is simulated (i.e. Our prototype does not actually know the user's location).
  2. The MIT directory we use is not linked to the real, complete directory. All users in our directory are imaginary.
  3. Our prototype does not receive notifications from other users.
  4. If our user sends invitations to their friends, we simulate their friends accepting these invitations (immediately).
  5. Our prototype is not connected to a network. All user updates remain on the local device.
  6. The location of nearby friends is also simulated.
  7. Our prototype assumes that all meeting rooms are available at all times.
  8. We pre-populate a list of friends, events, and notifications to illustrate Discover.Me's features.
