Q: How do I configure my iPhone to connect to MIT's Wi-Fi Network?

The Apple iPhone is equipped with wi-fi network connectivity. The instructions for registering the iPhone to the MIT's Wi-Fi Network is provided below:
(Note: The instructions assume that you are within the range of MIT's Wi-Fi Network.)

  1. Go to Home Screen on the device.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Turn on Wi-Fi. Make sure Ask to Join Networks setting is ON.
  4. Under Choose a Network, select MIT.
  5. Go back to the Home Screen.
  6. Open Safari and open any web address (e.g. http://web.mit.edu).
  7. You should now see "Welcome to Network Registration" page. Click on appropriate link and follow instructions to register your device.
  8. Once the registration form has been filled out and submitted, it will take approximately 15 minutes for the network to process the request.

Once the process is completed, you should now be able to use Safari to visit any web sites (e.g. http://web.mit.edu, etc.) when your iPhone is in range of the MIT's Wi-Fi Network.
