Platform Support:
Site does not crash or have significant performance impairments
IS&T maintains and monitors our servers. They are responsible for and closely watch server performance to ensure no interruptions of service. They maintain up to date software and server infrastructure
Penzias maintains our platform.
Software and patches are kept up to date
Penzias does all patching for the application layer
IST does all patcihng for the infrastructure layers
All data on site is preserved and regularly backed up.
IST performs nightly backups of all sites. In the event of any problems, data and platform can be rolled back to the previous version.
Thorough and reasonable measures are made by Penzias to ensure proper data backup procedures for all major site changes.
There is a clear channel for reporting site issues
IST monitors servers for outages and reports them to Penzias.
Any site issues experienced by partners can be reported to MIT Hive staff through email.
In most cases, we will work directly with Penzias to address the issue as follows:
For high severity problem where core site features do not work, Penzias will respond within 2 business hours.
For medium to low severity problems, where the site is functional, but basic feature are not working correctly, Penzias wil respond within 24 hours.
