MUMMS users can add or remove services within the MUMMS application. These services represent the real world services provided to lab users. The services vary depending on the departments or the laboratories using MUMMS.

Here are some of the Labs or departments that currentl use MUMMS.

  • Fab.Nano

  • MTL
  • EBL
  • PalaciosLab
  • LEAP
  • CryoEM

Each of them provicds some services.

Here are some of the services currently provided by Fab.Nano

  1. B12 - - Access to Building 12 Fab.Nano Laboratories

  2. B39-2 – Access to Building 39 2nd Floor Fab.Nano Laboratories

  3. B39-4  – Access to Building 39 4th Floor Fab.Nano Laboratories

  4. B39-5 – Access to Building 39 5th Floor Fab.Nano Laboratories

  5. B39_Packaging – Access to Building 39 Fab.Nano Packaging Equipment

Here are some of the services provided by MTL

  1.  CAD -- Access to MTL CAD Computer Software
  2. Compute Access – Login Access to MTL Computers
  3. Computer_Network – Network Service for Computers

  4. Computer_Support – Support Service for Computers

Other laboratories or departments may provide different services.

Adding Services

A user can add a service from the Manage Services page. If the user wishes to add a service that is not in their current service list, they can just select the service from drop down list under the section Add Service section and click Add button.

If a user has a service from a lab that associated with “Lab Usage” charge category and user did not have any Lab Usage charges before, supervisor and cost object allocations will need to be set up for payment of those charges before those services will become active. The user should assign a preliminary cost object to pay for these charges, which will notify the supervisor that allocations need to be approved. This can be done from the Manage Services page.

The new services will not be active until the required prerequisites are completed. For example, The Access to Building 39 2nd Floor Fab.Nano Laboratories requires EHS compliance.  See here for more details. The users can check the status of their services at “Manage Your Services” link after login to MUMMS
