An object that is hurled ( projected ) with force on a trajectory, but with no further force applied after that initial impulse. Thus, bullets, arrows, baseballs, slingshot weights, cannonballs, and the like are projectiles. Anything that continues to have a force exerted upon it by the directing agency, such as rockets or deflating balloons, are not projectiles.
