Summer 26 Weekly Meeting

There are currently two weekly meeting times, one at 4 pm and one at 7 pm on Tuesdays during the summer. Both meetings were quite similar, other than the individual announcements coming from Liam (on the website) and Angelina (on the CAD trainings). Today we discussed the current status of task delegation when it comes to the various projects, as well as updates on getting a third team to contribute to our 3 1U project. We also talked about budgets and sponsorship. Izaan talked with Prof. de Weck about the team's needs, including a possible candidate for the third team and a lab space. Currently, not many tasks are available since ETHER subteams still have to meet to finalize roles for the summer, and Zac has been unresponsive on the LEONIRD side. Until then, there are a few controls and structures jobs available (can be found in the slack) and Aleks can assign software tasks.

  • Outreach --
    • Sponsorship contacts will go out in the next few days. Since we have identified the budget range for both launch projects, it is crucial that we receive as much sponsorship funding as possible.
    • Liam is still working on the formatting of the mobile version of the website.
  • Onboarding --
    • An email will be sent out soon to contact new students and advertise the club.
  • ETHER --
    • Sub teams met for the first time over the weekend. Progress has been slow thus far, but controls and systems tasks are available through the slack if anyone would like to get started.
    • CFD work has been paused due to its difficulty.
  • LEONIRD --
    • We are still searching for a third partner team to launch the 1Us. Oli is going to reach out to a contact at SpaceX to see if they would join.
    • Currently, there are very few tasks since Zac has been unresponsive. If anyone wants to work on software, they can reach out to Aleks.

Updates and announcements:

  • Angelina is putting together a CAD training which will start June 23rd, 7:30 PM and happen weekly.
  • Summer budget is still unconfirmed.
  • We will have a lab space and clean room shared with the Small Sat Collaborative soon.
