Information:
- Have access to 100 children between the ages of 6 and 12, and the organizational structure to train, receive, distribute, and provide on-going oversight.
- Can provide daily classes throughout the summer for all 100 children for the training under the "American Academy of Excellence", our new school.
- Have many capable people speaking Amharic (the local language in Ethiopia) and English, who can assist you while there and carry on the work when you leave.
- Have secure facilities to store the equipment until you are ready to distribute them.
- We have never worked with OLPC before.
- The school, American Academy of Excellence is located in a rural area, outside of the city of Debre Zeyit.
- Because there is not school in the area, we are building a school for the community.
- The local housing is mud huts with mud floors.
- They are one room structures with people building a fire on the ground in their hut to cook over.
- You would be staying at a BCI guest house about 15 minutes away. You will have running water, electricity and a bed.
- Because we host hundreds of missionaries/volunteers from first-world countries, we maintain guest houses where they can stay.
- The cost for 8 weeks is $3,749, and includes airfare, room, board, transport in Ethiopia... pretty much all expenses.
- You would need to cover vaccinations, passport and visa cost.
- The cost is calculated by the base trip cost of $3,245 plus $84/week, so you can calculate the cost for different lengths of stay.

- Long Term Sustainability:
- We have a staff there in Ethiopia, of local Ethiopian who speak English very well. Additionally, we have missionary volunteers year-round.
