Adding Events

Use this procedure to place a class or section event on the Schedule or Calendar page.
Note: You add materials to the Schedule page from the [Materials page] and homework assignments from the [Homework page]. When adding the materials or assignments, check the "post On schedule" option.

Use the academic calendar when adding events to avoid conflicts with Monday holidays, spring break, and so on.

Directions to Adding Events
  1. Click Calendar in the navigation bar. You get a graphical calendar view that displays the months of the semester and days of the week.
  2. On the calendar, go to any date and click on the "add new event" icon.

It does not matter which month's Add Event link you click. Once you are on the Add Event page you can specify the event's month and day.

  3. Enter the event Title. The title appears in the Schedule.
  4. Enter a Summary. When users click an event's title in the Schedule, Stellar displays the event's summary.
    • Type the Summary text using plain text or HTML tags .
    • Enter the event's Date, selecting it from the calendar or the dropdown lists.
Note: For an event that occurs every week, check the "repeat every week until end of the semester" option. Checking this option places the event on the calendar for every week in the semester; the Date entry marks the beginning of the recurring entry.
  5. Enter the event's start and end times, if applicable.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Submit button to save the event and return to the Calendar page.
    • Click the "Submit and Add More" button to save the event and add another one.
