Support Pack 2008 User Acceptance Test

MIT QA Definition of User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Formal testing with respect to user needs, requirements, and business processes conducted to determine whether or not a system satisfies the acceptance criteria
and to enable the user, customers or other authorized entity to determine whether or not to accept the system.

¿Every year at this time SAP releases HR year end support packs that must be applied before the coming year's first payroll run
¿Opportunity to bring other support pack levels up to date
¿We should!
¿A more current level of support packs adheres to SAP support recommendations
¿Solid organizational exercise in testing
¿Ensures up to date test scripts for chosen transactions
¿Also an opportunity to use and socialize new QA documentation

Important Dates 

11/20 to 12/10 - User acceptance testing

  • All testing done by 12/5
  • 12/8 - 12/10 for issue retesting and financial closing
  • Don't wait until the end to test

12/12 - Go / No Go Decision

  • Based on results of user acceptance testing
  • Business owners will indicate their approval and acceptance of testing

12/13 to 12/15 - Go live weekend 

  • Production will be down from 6pm Friday evening until 6am Monday morning

12/22 - Drop dead date for updating production with support packages

  • We have to be done by this date

12/23 - first 2009 payroll run
