My passion is developing inexpensive, technologically appropriate medical devices for application in low income and disaster relief settings. I believe that these new device technologies will benefit the lives of millions that did not previously have access to specific medical treatments and eventually, will help to reduce healthcare costs in developed environments that currently have access. I aim to challenge the entire device community to practice responsible design with a value-per-dollar mindset in the core competencies of their businesses. This is the focus of my PhD thesis in the field of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT).
