  1. Looks like a good Wiki. Can hardly wait to contribute.

This wiki is intended to help the CDIO community to comment on, and review, its collection of Concept Questions.  This collection was initiated during the 7th CDIO International Conference in Copenhagen in June 2011.  I will upload the 84 initial questions as soon as I can find how to do it!  We welcome comments and corrections on each of them.  The collection is intended to be an open resource for use by any faculty member in a CDIO institution.

A good concept question (CQ) would:

o Require the recall of no facts

o Require the understanding of an idea or concept

o Result in a brief answer

o Reveal one or more common misconceptions

The questions collected in Copenhagen do not all fulfil every one of these criteria, but they all require thought.  Let us hone them!

The initial list of questions appears in this wiki as CQsAsOf6-23-11.doc   I will break it down into single questions for easier commenting.

    Here is the first CQ:

    Question 1:

Draw the free body diagram for a coin just after it has been tossed. [Alternatively: What is the force on a coin just after it has been tossed?]  Are the forces on the coin greater on the way up or the way down? Ignore air friction.
