Scenario

John (a fictitious name) is an MIT junior who lives off campus in a fraternity house. One weekend, his fraternity is not hosting an open party, so he invited some of his friends over to catch up on life and just have a good time. John plans on having some snacks and drinks in his room for his friends to enjoy.

John himself does not know too much about mixed drinks. While he sometimes mixes some liquors with juices and sodas, he's never experimented with much else since what he knows is generally quick and tastes good enough.

John's friends come from all different backgrounds. Some drink at every social event they go to and can list a number of different drinks off the top of their heads. Others do not drink, and some have the occasional drink when they're chilling with friends like John.

John went to the supermarket and bought a variety of juices -- orange, cranberry, pineapple, and a few juices with different combinations of fruits. He also bought some Coke, Sprite, ginger ale, sodas that often appear at parties. John then goes to the liquor store nearby and buys a few bottles of vodka, rum, brandy, some peach schnapps, mango rum, and a bottle of melon liqueur at the recommendation of the person working at the liquor store.

When John's friends arrive, they all start to make drinks. John makes a few simple drinks, like a rum and coke. His friends also make some simple drinks from his ingredients. Two of John's friends also brought things with them. One friend brought a bottle of amaretto, while another brought some pomegranate juice.

John did not expect his friends to bring these things, so he doesn't know what to do with them. He opens up his application on his phone and asks Fat Charles (the application) what to do with a combination of amaretto, pomegranate juice, and just for fun, ginger ale. He find a drink that sounds appealing, taps on the drink's name, and finds its recipe. He makes it, and it tastes amazing, so before he puts his phone away he upvotes the recipe.

John's friend Amy (another fictitious name) didn't like the drink so much; she thought it was too sweet. She writes a comment on this drink's comments page saying so. For her drink, she removes the amaretto and replaces it with some rum. Although the drink is less sweet, Amy thinks that the ginger ale and rum do not mix very well. As the night goes on, Amy experiments with some different combinations until she finally finds one she likes. Everyone agrees that the newly created drink is good, so Amy pulls out her phone and submits the drink to Fat Charles. She selects the ingredients using an interface much like the one John used to get a drink recommendation, then types in the instructions step by step. They eagerly await comments.

Two months later, John has a hangout again. Before this hangout, Amy checks Fat Charles. Her drink is immensely popular with over 60 upvotes! In order to decide what to buy for this hangout, she looks through the comments and notices that many people gave her various suggestions. She realizes that some of the suggestions makes sense, and buys the ingredients that those suggestions recommend. When Amy meets up with the rest of her friends later that night, she presents her new recipe, refined through all the comments that she received. Her friends are even more impressed, and they have an awesome hangout.
