CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY

Weatherhead School of Management

Tenure Track Position in Operations

The Department of Operations invites applications for one or two tenure-track positions as Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August, 2013. We seek faculty members with a research focus in supply chain management and whose published research is likely to have enduring value.  All candidates should have a Ph.D. or expect to complete a Ph.D. in the near future in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.  The candidate should be able to teach and communicate effectively to undergraduate business majors, MBA students, students in our MSM program in Operations Research and Supply Chain Management, and, possibly, in our Ph.D. program. Having appropriate business experience, coursework, or other appropriate background to which business students can relate would be a plus.  A suitable Associate Professor would be expected to participate actively in the promotion and management of our MSM program and in the development of other departmental programs and goals. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.  This position is conditional on final approval by Case Western Reserve University Provost’s office.

The Department has a long and distinguished history and granted the first Ph.D. in Operations Research. The Weatherhead School’s MBA and Undergraduate programs (in which the successful candidate would teach) are well ranked. The University is ten minutes from downtown Cleveland and world-class cultural venues within walking distance and excellent and affordable residential areas close by.

Applicants should e-mail a resume, copies of written research, and any evidence of teaching effectiveness (course evaluations, for example) and should arrange for at least three letters of reference to be sent electronically to Ms. Tedda Nathan at oprerecruit@case.edu.
