FY2012 Deliverables

The PMBA Working Group originally focused on the requirements gathering and design phases of the project life cycle for the next twelve months (November 2011 through February 2012).  Below is a list of potential deliverables the Working Group considered:

Proposed Activities

  • Revisit charter and membership and communicate out
  • Implement Community of Practice
  • Work with IS&T HR on training curriculum for PMs and BAs
  • Incorporate business analysis focus
    • Stakeholder engagement
    • Requirements Gathering
    • Collaboration with Lincoln Labs PMO
    • Improve integration of common support groups into project management process

Potential Future Products

  • Definition of team member roles and matrix of responsibilities (including sponsors and stakeholders)
  • Improved requirements gathering (including reporting requirements)
    • Templates
    • Approaches for execution
    • Business process modeling process and templates
    • Use case and test case development templates
    • Conceptual model as part of design (where applicable)
    • Community of Practice wiki
    • Help sessions and targeted workshops as part of the Community of Practice

The desired goal is that at some point during FY2012, this Working Group will evolve into the IS&T Project Community of Practice, and staff will self select when to participate and reach out.  Simply put, this group will meet to share knowledge and experience, support each other, and when appropriate, tackle problems and develop solutions together.
