BTOW Calibration for pp500 data in 2009 STAR run

1. pedestals & status tables STATUS= completed, May 2009
   • input : L2ped output, new set every day, no BFC
   • BTOW status tables for 39 RHIC fills have been determined and uploaded to DB. Summary by Jan
     
     
2. BTOW Relative Calibration STATUS= in limbo
   • method: for every tower for every eta ring, Jan will produce muDst for 15 regular production runs: http://online.star.bnl.gov/RunLog/Summary.php?run=10088102 production2009_500Gev_c
   • input :1.4M minB events from dedicated run, needs BFC production
   • processing : fit slopes using BTOW Calibration Scott's method with integral driven limits of slope range
   • status 7 May 2009
     • Jan created a .hist.root file *
     • Justin extracted slopes, a large .pdf file shows individual towers and slope. There is also a much smaller .txt file which contains softID, slope, and slope error for each tower.

3. absolute gains STATUS= low priority, in progress
   • Acceptable solution: assume maxET=60 GeV @ ADC=4076 , eta-dependence =sin(theta)
   • status 28 August 2009 : NO confirmation of absolute scale from 2009 data
