Purpose: 

The rear bulkhead is positioned at the bottom of the avionics tower in the sustainer. Its purpose is to hold the avionics panels in place. 


Materials:

3D printing material - Generic PLA (0.15 mm)


Fabrication Steps:

(1) Save as STL.

(2) Open CURA.

(3) Find the printer brand you’re using.

(4) Open thé part in CURA (CTRL O).

(5) Click the part you’re working on so select any face on the model.

(6) Lay it flat (click rotate icon then grid icon).

(7) Click any face of the part (or the face you want it to be flat on.).

(7) Hit CTRL R to center it.

(8) Click Slice.

(9) Save on SD card.

(10) Put the SD card in the printer and select your part.

(11) Print it.

(ABS = 240)

(PLA = 200)

CURA automatically does this for you.


Extra Notes:

The picture shows the part standing upright, but the part should be rotated to lie flat for 3D printing. 

Make sure to watch the first few layers of the 3D printing to ensure that the 3D printing product is fully adhered to the printer. Original file was created in Solidworks and then transferred to Ultimaker Cura.
