Basic Idea as we heard it
As more and more collaborative work is done online with teams across the world, we will need to enhance the way we provide distance learning. The notion of needing to go to one of a small number of special classrooms to conduct a course with students on another continent is the past. With the increase of bandwidth, low cost high resolution displays and cameras, and new video technology, we expect to see distance learning as something that changes a lot in the near future.
The MIT Media Lab is working on a number of projects related to this and it will be interesting to see how their new building is setup to enhance distance collaboration.
