What is the MIT Tableau User Group (MIT TUG)?

Tableau users are spread across the MIT campus.

  • Some of us are the only Tableau users in our department, while others are part of a group Tableau users in their department.
  • Some of us are just starting out with Tableau and others have mad Jedi skills.
  • Some of us build dashboards; others focus on data prep or site administration.
  • Some of us ONLY use Tableau; others use Tableau as one of multiple data tools.

We want this group to be for all of us.

The MIT TUG's mission is to build a Tableau community at MIT by providing a space where Tableau users at MIT can:

  • Meet other Tableau users. We'll host meetings every other month where you can chat with and learn from Tableau users at MIT.
  • Showcase what we're working on and our user adoption efforts. By sharing our successes as well as our struggles, we can learn from each other and get ideas for things to try in our own projects and DLCs.
  • Learn about and see applications of new (to us) features in Tableau (and related data products). There's always something new in Tableau and it's often hard to figure out how you might apply features and functionality in your own dashboards. Seeing how others at MIT have used those features and being able to pick their brain can help you get started.

Join us!

  • Join the conversation on Slack - ask questions, help others, or just share your successes and frustrations
  • Join our email list to be kept in the loop about upcoming events
  • Check out future events on the MIT Events Calendar
