This page outlines the process for thesis submission to the Center for Real Estate
Please refer to the following websites/pages for Thesis requirements and submission processes:
MSRED Students Site: Has information on thesis specifications, submission timelines, and related tasks.
Thesis Formatting Checklist - utilize this when reviewing a thesis' formatting for final submission
*Formatting is only reviewed after an advisor has indicated the content is 100% complete, and there are no more content edits to be made.
Thesis Requirements - a brief PPT of what is required for a final thesis. Usually reviewed with students but a good overview for faculty
When a student has submitted their thesis, the CRE must upload the final PDF to the MIT Archives Library. MIT Libraries shares an email with all Grad Admins at the mid-to-end of each semester detailing submission steps, processes, and reminders.
Please see a template of 'Graduation Reminders' under the "Templates" section for steps students should take prior to graduation.
Thesis grade submission is done in the Online Grading System, under RED.THG
Proration/Early Thesis
Students who do not finish their thesis on-time (in one semester) must come off the degree list and register for the next semester.
Students must be registered for two consecutive semesters in order for tuition be pro-rated by the Registrar's Office.
Students should add 10% to the pro-ration figures to match the 10% MSRED premium tuition.
Only in a pro-ration situation will turning in a thesis early result in tuition charges stopping the day a grade is submitted.
If a student is being pro-rated, it is essential that you submit their final grade the day they turn in the thesis to get the lowest tuition charge possible.
